We're in the midst of a golden age of beautiful, vivid lattes and other hot beverages.

You can get your tea in a variety of colors and tastes these days, so here's a brief rundown of what they all are:

1. Green matcha lattes

Often known as the purest form of green tea, Matcha is a powdered green tea mixed with hot water to make a bright green, flavorful cup of tea. It looks stunning on Instagram when mixed with milk for a latte. Matcha is caffeinated, unlike most other colored lattes, so it may give you a lift while also brightening up your day. Its comparatively high caffeine levels cause many individuals to experience "alert calm," sometimes known as a sense of pleasant awakeness. It's also delectable and, in our opinion, pairs great with a good book and a croissant.

2. Blue matcha lattes

If any of them is likely to be the breakout Instagram star, it'll likely be the blue variant. First and foremost, have a look at it. Blue matcha is still delicious; it has a gentle, flowery flavor rather than the strong flavor of its green relative. It's also caffeine-free and photogenic.

3. Turmeric lattes

Turmeric and all of its health advantages have been known for centuries. Whether or not it's the miraculous spice that some believe it is, it makes for stunning golden-colored hot beverages. Turmeric is harsh and spicy on its own, but when combined with warm, foamy milk in a latte, it becomes wonderfully earthy and fragrant.

4. Charcoal lattes

Thanks to promises of its purifying properties — many believe it may treat hangovers, assist digestion, and even increase metabolism — activated charcoal has been cropping up as an active component everywhere recently. The truth is that most of those health claims are unsupported by research. But! It's perfectly safe in small amounts, and it makes for some eye-catching lattes.

5. Purple lattes

Purple lattes are incredibly gorgeous and often contain one among two ingredients: purple sweet potato (called ube) or taro (a starchy root vegetable). Pastel-colored ube is a particularly suitable base for a latte since it lends a pleasant natural sweetness to beverages.

6. Red lattes

Red lattes are frequently referred to as red matcha, which is confusing because red matcha isn't a single variety of tea. As a result, the red matcha lattes may be made in a variety of colors, ranging from rich ruby reds to softer, subdued hues. It's stunning in any case, and whether it's the hibiscus or rooibos kind, it's caffeine-free.

7. Pink Lattes

When Starbucks initially began selling its "pink beverages", pink matcha swept over Instagram. Lattes, like most things, become even more appealing and Instagrammable when they're bright pink. Pink lattes, like red lattes, can be made from a variety of different ingredients. Some pink lattes are made with rose petals, while others are made with brilliant magenta-hued beetroot.

Here are the clinking ice sounds, outrageous drinks, and soft, slime-like foam in these videos. It's challenging to get through the middle of the week, especially if you've just enjoyed a three-day weekend and your ideas of a relaxing Monday are still vivid in your mind. As the week wears on and Friday looms ever closer, here's something to watch with your sheet mask and glass of wine this evening: the "home cafe" video.

The home cafe is a chill Instagram video genre in which disembodied hands create visually enticing beverages. The beverages are composed of items that sound lovely, like frozen orbs plinking into a glass, bubbly water fizzing into colorful syrup, or a glass straw swirling a mixture of ice and citrus similar to ASMR and foamy videos.

If you search with #homecafe, you'll get hundreds of thousands of videos. But the secret is to search in Korean with #홈카페, which translates to the same thing containing over a million postings, primarily created by Korean Instagrammers.

There are a lot of analogs in home cafe videos. Instagram's favorite over-the-top milkshakes are reminiscent of the home cafe's blinged-out beverages. And the clips are similar to Tasty in that they are brief and to the point. That is to say, home-café caters to a wide range of niches. The sounds of the home cafe are nevertheless pleasing. Listen:

The fact that the beverages don't seem like you have to make them is one of our favorite aspects of the home café video. They don't provide much context; it's unclear why this fizzy lemon drink is a brilliant shade of blue and what it may taste like aside from lemons. Or what the thick, runny liquids are. There are no ingredients, only a variety of pleasing colors, forms, sensations, and noises. Look:

Cooking videos may be daunting because there are so many expectations about what you can prepare and how you might go wrong. Instead, watch the home café video. Feel your cares lift away, even if only for a single Instagram minute, as the milky, colorful concoctions stream into a glass filled with ice and topped with sweets.
